Holy Island takes its name from the tidal island just off the Northumberland Coast. With a rich and far-reaching history going back as far as 6th century AD, it has played an important role in Christianity in Northumberland and now hosts a small castle, which was built in 1550. A popular place to visit and highly recommended.
