Excellent room, wonderful space in the bathroom, massive shower. Small touches like cookies (of course), honesty bar, and a wonderfully seductive aroma of local scented candles and diffusers follows you about the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day with homemade granola pots, kippers, and a huge English breakfast selection. We had requested firmer pillows which weren't supplied, but all in all a lovely escape from February weather. Staff incredibly friendly. Well done all.

We had a wonderful two nights stay in St Cuthbert’s Cave - beautiful room. Can’t wait to return, and hopefully for longer. The food and surroundings were fabulous, but the friendliness and time, given to us by the staff, made the Cookie Jar unique, and the perfect stay that it was, for a man, his wife and his dog!

The staff are brilliant and made us very welcome. Parking is available right outside, the bars and restaurants are just a 5 minute walk away. It was very quiet at night so no problem there. The breakfasts we had were all excellent and there was plenty to choose from. The weather was pretty awful but that just made coming back to the hotel after our days out even better, with homemade biscuits to look forward too.

  Lovely friendly hotel in an ideal location - Gorgeous hotel, beautifully refurbished from an old Covent. The staff were exceedingly friendly from the reception to the breakfast staff. It’s ideal for visiting the town and Alnwick castle.

Staff are extremely helpful we will definately be back.
