Great few days in this beautifully appointed, friendly hotel - Great few days staying at The Cookie Jar in Alnwick. The best thing for me was the effort they have taken to make this the most beautifully decorated small hotel... read more I have ever been to. Every corner has been curated. Excellent room, wonderful space in the bathroom, massive shower. Small touches like cookies (of course), honesty bar, and a wonderfully seductive aroma of local scented candles and diffusers follows you about the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day with homemade granola pots, kippers, and a huge English breakfast selection. We had requested firmer pillows which weren't supplied, but all in all a lovely escape from February weather. Staff incredibly friendly. Well done all.

We had a wonderful two nights stay in St Cuthbert’s Cave - beautiful room. Can’t wait to return, and hopefully for longer. Great stay - We have just arrived back from our recent visit to the Cookie Jar and we definitely had a five star experience. Our room was warm and cosy, with an enormous... read more bathroom. The staff are brilliant and made us very welcome. Parking is available right outside, the bars and restaurants are just a 5 minute walk away. It was very quiet at night so no problem there. The breakfasts we had were all excellent and there was plenty to choose from. The weather was pretty awful but that just made coming back to the hotel after our days out even better, with homemade biscuits to look forward too.
